Introducing Rafael Majano, the new student Chaplain at Morningside Ministries.
Five years ago Rafael set out on his journey to San Antonio,TX from Venezuela in hopes of becoming a Catholic priest one day. Majano grew up in a Catholic family and went to Catholic school ever since he could remember. It was when he made a trip to Germany that he realized and felt that God was calling him to help people and spread his word. After 5 years studying accounting in college, he answered God’s call and came to San Antonio to study at the Oblate School of Theology. His favorite thing about San Antonio,TX is the vast amount of Spanish speakers here. He hopes to conduct Spanish Masses one day and really bond with each and every one of the people that attend his church. Besides studying to become a priest, Majano likes to read books, swim, play tennis and watch the latest movies out in theaters. His ultimate goal in life he says is to be a priest “for others” and his favorite scripture is 1 Corinthians 13:4-8A.
“Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude. It is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails. But when there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away.”
Welcome to Morningside Minsitries, Rafael!
