Assisted Living FAQs

Assisted living is suitable for individuals who may require assistance with one or more daily activities, such as mobility, eating, bathing, dressing, grooming, administering medication, and scheduling transportation for doctor’s visits. It offers the convenience of daily general supervision, maintenance-free living, and round-the-clock emergency response.
At each Morningside community, every calendar is brimming with events and activities aimed at enhancing quality of life by fostering friendships, offering new experiences, providing entertainment, encouraging social interaction, and facilitating educational pursuits. Residents frequently go out on excursions to parks, restaurants and shops.
Morningside does not furnish assisted living homes. Residents have the freedom to decorate their homes according to their own personal preferences.

Rehabilitation FAQs

Morningside’s licensed therapists offer Physical, Occupation, and Speech Therapy services to help patients get back up on the go.
Our rehabilitative team treats conditions including musculoskeletal and physical injuries, neurological, cardiopulmonary and geriatric conditions, speech, language and cognitive communication disorders, and swallowing disorders.
Occupational and physical therapy are both aimed at restoring strength and mobility, but occupational therapy places greater emphasis on assisting residents in adapting to their social and physical surroundings. This often involves training residents in tasks such as dressing, bathing, eating, and grooming, as well as memory, cognitive function, and orientation.
Speech therapists use techniques such as speech drills and augmentative communication devices to help improve language and swallowing skills.
Treatment plans are individualized to address the residents’ unique needs as certified by a physician. The rehabilitation team begins by involving the resident and their doctor, nurse, dietitian, social worker, and family members, as permitted and willing by the resident. The therapy team carefully assesses each treatment plan and suggests a suitable service schedule. For some individuals, this means daily sessions spanning a few weeks, while others may need less frequent sessions with larger intervals between treatments.
