Four senior couples that call Morningside Ministries at the Manor home, said, “I do” for the second time in their lives as they renewed their wedding vows to their life long partner in marriage in the presence of their family and friends. Each bride and groom walked down the aisle at the activity room at the Manor. The Powell Activity room was transformed into a vision of white and ivory with all the details included.
The idea all started when Manor Activity Director, Joann Gamboa, saw a couple crying together over a song that was playing on the grand piano, trying to comfort the couple, Ms. Gamboa soon realized they were happy tears. The couple then proceeded to tell her that this was their wedding song they danced to 55 years ago.
Many of the couples have been married for well over 55 years, and together the four couples have been faithful, respectful and in love for a total of 239 years.
“True love lasts forever, and I believe their love is the perfect example of that,” said Gamboa.
It was truly a day to celebrate new and old memories and all the love and commitment it took to make their marriage last for 55 years and counting.
