Morningside Ministries received bronze-level recognition during the 2016 Healthy Workplace Recognition Program, an initiative of the San Antonio Business Group on Health (SABGH) and the Mayor’s Fitness Council.
The Healthy Workplace Recognition Program was created in 2010 to recognize local employers for their worksite wellness efforts. Bronze, silver, gold and platinum level recognitions are awarded annually based on the company’s wellness program implementation and company initiatives.
Morningside Ministries was recognized for its employee wellness program, which was introduced during the fall of 2015 and developed by Morningside’s human resources department and SWBC Employee Benefits Consulting Group. In an effort to promote a healthier lifestyle in the workplace, Morningside’s employee wellness program introduced a variety of wellness demonstrations and opportunities throughout the organization’s three senior living communities, as well as a 60-day employee wellness challenge titled “MSM: Making Steps Matter.”
“We feel honored to have received this recognition and are grateful to SWBC for their help in making Morningside’s employee wellness program a reality,” said Christina Minor, vice president of human resources at Morningside Ministries. “This recognition has motivated us to take our wellness program to the next level in 2017, and we look forward to continue introducing exciting new initiatives and opportunities for Morningside’s hard-working, compassionate employees.”
Morningside Ministries’ employee wellness program will continue in 2017 under a brand-new name – MMFit – and will place an emphasis on smoking and tobacco cessation.
