Morningside Ministries’ use of the Xenex germ-zapping robots was highlighted in a recent story by Texas Public Radio.
In 2014, Morningside Ministries at the Manor became the first skilled nursing facility in Texas and only the second in the nation to add the germ-zapping robot to its infection control practices. The effects against rebound infections were so significant that it was soon decided to introduce the robots at Morningside’s two other skilled nursing facilities.
The robots have become well-known in the skilled nursing facilities – so much so that residents and staff gave each of them unique names: “The Germinator” resides at The Manor, the robot at Chandler Estate Health Care was christened “Howard”, and “Jeffrey” can be found at Kendall House.
