Dear Residents, Family Members, and Friends of Morningside Ministries,
We are currently reporting 14 positive COVID-19 cases at our Menger Springs community. Three of the positive cases are Assisted Living staff members, four are Skilled Nursing staff, and seven are Assisted Living residents. Residents, family members, and staff have all been contacted about the positive cases. Our isolation procedures remain in place and the COVID-positive employees are following local and state health guidelines to help contain the spread of the virus at our community. We have begun weekly COVID-19 testing of our Skilled Nursing staff to meet the federal and state mandated requirements for all nursing facilities.
The Meadows community in San Antonio is hosting its second round of outdoor visitations at our Assisted Living facilities on Thursday, September 17 from 9-11am. To schedule a visit with your loved one at The Meadows Assisted Living, please email MeadowsVisitations@mmliving.org. Staff at The Meadows have asked that you please not call to schedule your visit due to the number of anticipated requests, emailing will ensure we maintain organization with scheduling visits. As of right now, the positive cases at Menger Springs have eliminated the possibility of conducting visitations. Please rest assured that we are doing everything in our power to stop the spread of COVID-19 at our Boerne community.
Morningside leadership continues to work with local and state health officials to find a way to allow visitations for our Skilled Nursing residents. Visitation with Independent Living residents continues to be designated to outside visits only. Please keep in mind that visitations at all levels of living at both communities will only be available if our residents and staff remain COVID-19 free.
We understand that you have concerns about COVID-19. Please know that we remain committed to being open and transparent, while respecting the privacy of those involved as we implement all necessary health and safety protocols to keep our residents and staff out of harm’s way. We will continue to provide you with weekly updates on our efforts to combat COVID-19. Thank you for your patience and continued support while we navigate through this challenging situation. Should you have any questions, please contact your respective Executive Director or Administrator.
Sincerely,
Patrick Crump
