Because of your generosity, resident moms across Morningside received a special photo shoot, flowers, and so much more on this Mother’s Day.
Ramona was one of the moms who enjoyed a special day just for her.
At 101, Ramona has lived a full life of creativity. She enjoyed ceramics, macramé, and painting. And she wrapped gifts so beautifully that her daughters, Vera and Alice, still talk about it.
After a recent stroke, and her vision and hearing fading, those artistic days are unfortunately behind her.
But this Mother’s Day, generous donors like you helped give Ramona a new way to shine!
When Ramona’s daughters heard about the special glamour photo shoot, they were thrilled.
The photographer and her team dressed each resident in gorgeous colors, jewelry, and makeup. “They looked like princesses,” Vera said. “Every one of them.” Residents talked about it for days! Each resident, including Ramona, felt celebrated, seen, and cherished.

The surprise continued at the Mother’s Day brunch, where each resident found her framed portrait waiting at her place setting.
“Wow! We certainly didn’t expect that,” Alice shared. “Mom is beautiful inside and out. Now everyone can see. If I could, I’d hug the donors who made all this possible.”
Because of your kindness, Ramona and so many moms experienced a moment of joy they’ll treasure.
