A Heartfelt Thanks from Margaret

Thanks to you, Margaret can express her love for her family through art.

At 81 years old, Margaret has been a cherished member of the Meadows Independent Living community. Thanks to your kindness, her life has been enriched in countless ways.

“I felt the Holy Spirit when I toured the facility in 2019. It was bright and beautiful with quality furniture and artwork that gave it a resort-like feel.”

Margaret became a widow early when her husband died in his 40s. She has always kept an active schedule and is on the go from morning till night.

Margaret gives back through volunteering to stay busy: you’ll likely find her in the front office doing morning check-ins with residents, volunteering in the Meadows Library, or participating in Resident Council activities. Your support helped Margaret and other Morningside members have multiple opportunities throughout the day to keep busy with fun, enriching activities.

When another resident invited her to join a weekly art class, she at first felt inadequate artistically compared to other resident painters. But your gift has provided the resources and support needed for Margaret to explore and develop her artistic talents.

She now not only finds joy in her art but also a meaningful way to connect with her grandchildren and leave them a cherished legacy.

Thank you for making this possible. Your generosity continues to touch lives and bring joy to our community.

Creating Joyful Moments… Thanks to YOU!

Your gift made Rudy’s Father’s Day unforgettable.

Your gift has brought joy and new experiences to our residents at the Manor, our long-term care facility. Residents like Rudy Martinez, a spirited 78-year-old, who had a memorable day recently, thanks to your kindness.

Thanks to your compassionate care and thoughtful gift, twelve residents were able to spend time outdoors at Woodlawn Lake during a Father’s Day outing. They enjoyed fishing and a special cookout with grilled steaks, baked potatoes, asparagus, and watermelon.

Team members made two trips with the Morningside bus to bring a dozen senior dads, including Rudy, to the popular gathering spot.

“It takes a bit of planning to get everyone to the lake, especially when many are wheelchair-bound,” said life enrichment coordinator Isela Chapa, “but we love our residents, and they love getting out in nature!”

Were the fish biting? “Not so much,” admitted Rudy with a smile. “But it’s just nice to be out here by the water under a blue sky and a change of scenery!”

The laughter and camaraderie shared that day were truly special. Your gift provided the means for Rudy and his fellow residents to enjoy a day of fresh air, good food, and great company.

Thanks to friends like you, Morningside was able to transport these men in the facility bus and provide them with food, fishing gear, a special Father’s Day blanket, and so much more. Your gift made it possible to take them out on a sunny afternoon, which did wonders for their sense of well-being.

Thank you for making moments like these possible.

“She Felt Content for the First Time in Her Adult Life”

Thank you for providing comfort, joy, and meaningful connections to our residents.

One such resident whose life was profoundly changed by your generosity is Ruth.

Ruth’s life had been marked by challenges; her husband left her when their baby was just six months old. Ruth worked extremely hard to provide for her son.

Ruth arrived at Morningside at Menger Springs scared and not very excited to be there, since she thought she would have to give up her independence. Oh boy, was she wrong…

Through your support to Morningside, you help residents KEEP their independence! Morningside staff coaxed Ruth to try new things and join in, and eventually, they found ways to reach her. Over time, she blossomed.

Her family said: “She felt content for the first time in her adult life and that she belonged.” She was so grateful for the wonderful care and support she received. All thanks to you!

Your generosity made it possible for Ruth to find joy and contentment in her later years.

Thank you for making a profound difference in Ruth’s life and the lives of so many others in our community.
