Morningside Ministries is proud to celebrate Deborah Littles, Lead Cook at Morningside at The Chandler Estate, for being recognized as the recipient of the Excellence in Direct-Care Award at the 2026 LeadingAge Texas Annual Conference & Solutions EXPO Awards & Showcase in May.
For the past 22 years, Deborah has been serving the Morningside Ministries community with dedication, talent, and heart. She began her journey with the organization in 2003 as a cook at The Manor before moving to the Meadows Atrium, where she prepared meals for independent living residents and team members. Three years ago, she stepped into the role of Lead Cook at Morningside at The Chandler Estate, where she works as lead cook in a three-person kitchen.
Known for her delicious entrees, homemade desserts, and warm spirit, Deborah has made a lasting impact on both residents and team members. She takes great pride in cooking and baking for the community and values the relationships she has built over the years.
“Deborah has been an amazing team member here at the Chandler Estate,” said Michael Ruiz, Executive Director at Morningside at The Chandler Estate. “We’ve sold some apartments here due to just her food and all the energy she brings to the community.”
Kerri Vera, Marketing & Event Coordinator at The Chandler Estate, echoed that sentiment. “Deb is amazing to work with. I know that if she’s in the kitchen, there is going to be magic, and no one has her secret sauce!”
Deborah’s award is a well-deserved recognition of her years of service, culinary talent, and commitment to enriching the lives of those she serves. Morningside Ministries is honored to have her as part of the team and congratulates her on this outstanding achievement.
