Sometimes, meaningful moments come long after the milestone has passed. When they do, they remind us of what truly matters.
Recently, our HR Manager, Laura Crockett, came across a retirement plate tucked away in an office. The plate belonged to Estela Magallanez, who retired from Morningside Ministries on May 21, 2021, after an incredible 40 years of service. Estela served as a dedicated C.N.A. at Kaulbach, caring for residents in our assisted living community.
Determined to make sure Estela received the recognition she deserved, Laura set out to find her. The phone number on file was no longer in service, but that did not stop her. After a bit of searching, she found a possible contact for a relative and left a message, hoping it would reach the right person.
Not long after, Estela’s son returned the call.
Laura shared the story of the retirement plate and her hope to finally place it in Estela’s hands. Thanks to that connection, something special happened. Estela’s daughter brought her to visit us in person.
At last, we were able to present Estela with her retirement plate and, more importantly, express our heartfelt gratitude for her four decades of dedication, compassion, and service.
Moments like these remind us that it is never too late to say “thank you.” At Morningside Ministries, we are proud to honor those who have given so much to our community, no matter how much time has passed.
